One man died and four more were injured in a boat accident in the state of New Jersey last week. According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the boat's anchor got stuck, forcing it to capsize and sink off the coast of Staten Island. The five people were aboard the vessel when it capsized. Although the cause of the accident has yet to be confirmed, it appears as though the anchor became stuck on something and that caused the entire boat to turn over. The four survivors sustained minor injuries and were later released from an area hospital. Several hours after the boat accident took place, the deceased victim was revealed to be 50-year-old M.B.
Luckily, there was another boat in the area when the accident took place to offer assistance. The Coast Guard responded to a mayday call shortly after the rescue boat pulled the five victims from the water. None of the passengers were found to have been wearing life jackets at the time of the incident.
