Medical emergency teams in Lake County, Florida were kept busy last weekend attending to the victims of a fatal boat accident that occurred on a local river.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reported that a family was out for the day in their 42-foot boat when it suddenly overturned. At the helm was the son of a famous local car dealer who lost his life during the boat accident. Accompanying him on the river were his wife, daughter, son and six more people, all of whom escaped with their lives.
Police say that as a result of the boat accident, three additional victims were in critical condition when emergency response crews arrived and had to be rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
At this time, the Commission does not know why the boat flipped, but they say they will continue to investigate to determine a cause.
