Man Dies during Boat Collision in Vermont

In Crown Point, Vermont, officials and media reported that a man died during a boating accident on Lake Champlain.

According to authorities, 60-year-old William F. Brown died after he was run over by a Ranger bass boat that was operated by one of his acquaintances. The operator of the Ranger boat, 60-year-old William O. Wright, suffered minor injuries during the collisions but survived.

State Police report that Wright lost control of his vessel and both he and Brown were thrown from the boat. After the men were thrown from the boat, the vessel continued and struck both of the men.

Wright was listed as being in stable condition while being treated at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.  An autopsy later revealed that Brown died of blunt force trauma to his chest.

At this, police have said that they do not believe charges will be filed.
