In the city of Tampa, local law enforcement officers say they are investigating a hit-and-run accident that took place this week at Zack Street E and Florida Avenue N at 3:30 AM.
Police report that Elijah Nottingham had been operating a beige Hyundai Elantra and traveling north on Florida when he ran a red light. He then proceeded to collide with a blue Dodge avenger that was traveling eastbound on Zack Street.
The Dodge flipped over and the Hyundai crashed into a tree. The driver who allegedly caused the auto accident pulled the victim out of the Dodge and then left the scene of the crash on foot. However, police were able to catch him two blocks away. He has since been charged with leaving the scene of an accident with serious injuries and DUI with serious injuries.
The victim was later identified as 24-year-old Mark Rambaran and he is listed in critical condition at a local hospital.
