This week, the Tarrant County medical examiner's office ruled that a man who went missing in Grapevine Lake died from blunt force trauma to his head. The examiner said that the man, Any Hines, was run over by the motor boat he had been operating.
Hines' head was struck by a propeller and the examiner ruled that his death was accidental. Authorities found Hines' body and assumed that he either jumped or fell into the lake from his boat. Officers say that at the time of his disappearance, Hines was on his boat with other people.
Grapevine police Lt. Todd Dearing said, "The boat would overheat and they would stop it to let it cool down and they would go swimming." He also stated that, "They did that several times. It was about time to come to shore when the driver looked back and the victim was not in the boat."
Hines' body was found near Dove Loop boat ramp, which is by the south side of the lake. Police do not believe alcohol played a role in the death.
