Teenage Boy Killed during Bicycle Accident

A community is mourning the loss of a teenage boy who was struck and killed while riding his bicycle last week.

Officers with the Florida Highway Patrol were dispatched to the scene of the bicycle accident to find that the 15-year-old boy in bad condition. After speaking with the driver of the pickup truck that struck the boy, they learned that the boy had been heading south. However, the truck driver did not see the young boy on his bicycle and told officers that he struck the victim by accident.

Following the collision, the young boy was transported to a trauma center where he lost his live a few hours later. At this time, the bicycle accident is still under investigation by the FHP.
