Auto Accident Injures Biker

A seventy-year-old man who was riding a 2001 model motorcycle was killed when a motor vehicle collided with the bike on an interstate. According to authorities, the car was trying to dash across a lane to make an exit ramp on the interstate. Failing to notice the motorcycle, the vehicle unexpectedly entered the motorcyclist's lane and the motorcycle collided with the rear end of the car.

Due to the high speed of the collision, the motorcyclist was ejected from his seat and thrown onto the road. Unfortunately, the man was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and his passenger in the vehicle were uninjured in the crash.

Highway patrol is currently investigating the auto accident, but it currently appears that it was not alcohol related – simply a result of reckless driving on the part of the Sonata driver and poor judgment on the part of the un-helmeted motorcyclists. Reports say that the accident caused traffic to be backed up for more than 4 miles in the hours following the crash.
