Dalai Lama's Nephew Killed in Auto Accident

The Dalai Lama will need to say some extra prayers this week for his nephew who was struck and killed in Florida this week.

Jigme K. Norbu, 45, was walking alongside a state road from St. Augustine to West Palm Beach when he was struck by a car driven by Keith O'Dell, 31. Norbu was doing this walk in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Tibetan rebellion against China.

Although O'Dell was questioned by members of the highway patrol he has not been charged at this time. They are calling it an unfortunate accident. According to the Florida Times-Union Norbu was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. They also stated that he appeared to be walking on the very edge of the highway when he was struck by O'Dell.
