Driver Charged with Vehicular Manslaughter for Biker's Death
After spending her life working with criminals, a probation officer from a county in Florida now finds herself labeled as one.
Two months ago, the 32-year-old female was driving on a local street when she looked away from the road for a moment. When her eyes returned to the roadway, she saw that her vehicle had veered off the street directly into the path of a bicyclist. With no time to swerve back onto the road, she hit a 56-year-old male bicyclist, causing fatal injuries. Although he was wearing a helmet, his injuries were too severe for doctors to remedy. Police say the victim later passed away while receiving treatment at a medical facility.
