Family of Annie Le May Sue Yale Univeristy for Security Negligence

In New Haven, on the very first anniversary of Annie Le's death and disappearance, an attorney representing her family appeared in Superior Court this Wednesday to observe a pretrial proceeding for her accused killer, Raymond Clark III.  The lawyer, Brian King, also announced that the Le family is investigating whether or not to sue Yale University for security negligence.

At this time, the family has hired King and a private investigator to determine whether security personnel at Yale responded quickly enough to save Annie Le and also whether or not Yale officials checked Clark's credentials and background history before hiring him as an animal technician.  Clark worked in the building where Le would conduct her student experiments.

King told news sources, "The family does not feel they (Yale security and police) responded fast enough."

Le was a graduate student at Yale University and was 24 years old at the time of her death.  She disappeared on the morning of September 8, 2009 in five days later her body was located behind a wall in the lower level of the building.  The day authorities found her body was supposed to be her wedding day.

Following police investigations, Clark was charged with murder and felony murder.  He has pled not guilty to those charges.
