Man Turns Himself in After Fatal Boat Accident

A man in Vero Beach finally turned himself in for the accidental death of his wife. Jeffrey Carlson, 40, is being charged with the boating homicide of wife Julie Carlson, 39, as well as boating  under the influence causing manslaughter.

The boat accident occurred on July 24th this year and has been under investigation by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission since then. Carlson and his wife were near Captain Hiram's Marina in Sebastien when the accident occurred; authorities have yet to release how much alcohol Carlson had in his system at that time.

Bail has been set for Carlson at $5,000 and he is due back in court on December 22 at 9 AM. He will be arraigned at the Indian River County Court. Since both are classified as second-degree offenses, Carolson could be charged up to 15 years in jail per account as well as a fine of $10,000.
